In the bustling realm of energy research in Canada, a revolution is underway, orchestrated by a community of determined researchers shaping the nation’s energy future. At the heart of this transformation lies the collaborative project of the Centre for Energy Modeling (CEM), expertly led by Edouard Clément, where the brightest minds gather to share their advancements, predictive models, and data in a tailored digital space. And it’s here that Rouge On Blue steps onto the stage, tasked with bringing this community to life in a feature-rich and expansive environment.

The challenge was substantial: to design and implement a scalable web platform in less than three months to invigorate this community of researchers and compellingly showcase the crucial role of the Centre for Energy Modeling, affiliated with Polytechnique Montréal. The result? A dynamic and intuitive digital space that offers far more than a mere virtual meeting place. Equipped with a secure private zone, the platform allows members to share their latest research, collaborate on innovative projects, and access a wealth of free and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data.

In concrete terms, the CEM project aims to support and facilitate access to energy models and modelers worldwide. Through effective coordination and communication, the CEM mobilizes and disseminates knowledge within its community while consolidating a public directory of relevant resources and models. Additionally, training and networking play a crucial role in the project, bridging the gap between data and policies through tools, training, and knowledge transfer.

But the CEM’s work doesn’t stop there. By facilitating access to models, data, and expertise, the Centre is committed to supporting the development and maintenance of quality open-source models while promoting FAIR data principles to foster the growth of the energy modeling community.

Rouge On Blue has tailored everything to facilitate the collaboration of its passionate community of researchers: from enhancing the center’s identity to designing the platform, sharing spaces, and private zones.
